New York State Route 247 is a north-south running route located in the counties of Ontario and Yates in the Finger Lakes region of New York. The southern terminus is at NY 364 near Potter. Its northern terminus is at NY 5 and US 20 in the town of Hopewell.

NY 247 is 11 miles in length and has one concurrency (with NY 245).

NY 247 separates from NY 364 at an awkward intersection northwest of the town of Potter. NY 364, which runs east-west at this location, intersects Hagerty Road at a normal T-intersection. Just to its west, a fork in the road occurs, splitting the highway into two routes, NY 364, which runs along the base of a hill that is located to the north, and NY 247, which runs along the slope.^[2] For little more than 150 yards, NY 247 runs parallel to NY 364 while gradually gaining altitude. After reaching the top of the hillside, NY 247 curves to the north and begins its north-south alignment.

The route does not intersect any state routes between Potter and Rushville, where NY 247 intersects NY 245. The two routes form a 1.4 mile duplex, 150 yards of which is located in Yates County.

Still in Rushville and still duplexed with NY 245, but now in Ontario County, the two routes break from County Road 1 and travel to the northeast. In Stanley, 1.1 miles from County Road 1, the concurrency comes to an end. NY 245 continues east towards Geneva while NY 247 heads north.

Between NY 245 and routes 5 and 20, NY 247 maintains a near-perfect north-south alignment. It does not intersect any state routes along this stretch prior to terminating at NY 5 and US 20 in Hopewell.
