New York Handicap
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The New York Handicap (also known as the New York Breeders' Cup Handicap) is a race for thoroughbred horses open to fillies and mares, age three and up, willing to race one and one-quarter miles on the Belmont Park turf. A Grade II event, it offers a purse of $250,000.
The filly, Noble Damsel, won this race in 1982. She has a race run each year in her honor: the Noble Damsel Breeders' Cup Handicap at Belmont.
