New York Art Quartet

The New York Art Quartet was a free jazz ensemble made up of saxophonist John Tchicai, trombonist Roswell Rudd, drummer Milford Graves and bassist Lewis Worrell. They formed in 1964 and were one of the first groups to record for the ESP Disk record label : ESP-1004 - New York Art Quartet & Imamu Amiri Baraka (aka LeRoi Jones), with recitation of the poem "Black Dada Nihilismus".
