New World Tower
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
New World Tower is a building in downtown Miami, Florida. Although not one of the taller buildings in the city, its proximity to Biscayne Bay gives it a prominent place in photos looking west of the Miami Skyline. When it was built in 1965, the building was the tallest building in Miami, Florida in 1965-1971. It retained that status until 1971, when the SunTrust International Center, also in Miami, was built and was taller. The tower is 357 ft (119 m) tall, and contains 31 floors. It is located on Biscayne Boulevard and Northeast 3rd Street, on the eastern edge of the Central Business District. Floors 1-4 of the building are used for retail, while floors 5-31 are used for commercial office space.
