The New Westminster Whalers are a Junior ice hockey team based out of New Westminster, British Columbia. They play out of the WHA Junior West Hockey League.

The Whalers played in the WHA Junior West Hockey League's first ever overtime game on September 22, 2006. The game was also the Whalers first ever game. Sadly for the Whalers, their opponents, the Osoyoos Spurs were up to the challenge and defeated the Whalers by a score of 6-5. Two nights later, the Whalers and Spurs met again. The results were much better for the Whalers as they beat the Spurs for their first ever victory, in regulation, by a score of 4-2.
The teams logo is taken from the defunct World Hockey Association's New England Whalers from the 1970s.
The Whalers finished their first ever regular season in second place. The entered the playoffs in a round robin against the Squamish Cougars and the Bellingham Bulls. The Whalers came out victorious and are currently in the league final against the Lumby Fighting Saints.
