New South Wales Student Representative Council

The New South Wales Student Representative Council (NSW SRC) is a body that exists as part of the NSW DET's student welfare program. The NSW DET cites this body as it's peak student leadership consultative and decision-making forum.
The NSW SRC is structured and operates as so it;
- has elected members from all regions in NSW to represent the views of NSW secondary students
- consists of 22 members, including two Aboriginal student leaders
- meets five times per year
- is consulted on student issues by senior officers in the Department of Education and Training, Government departments, businesses and community groups
- distributes minutes summaries from each term's meetings to all government secondary school SRCs
- works on the recommendations passed at the NSW State SRC Conference by the student forum
