 New Otani Japanese Garden

A 400 year old Japanese garden is on the hotel site, dating from the 1500's when Kiyomasa Kata a Samurai lord had his residences on this site.

In the 1967 James Bond film You Only Live Twice, the Hotel New Otani Tokyo is used for the outside scenes at Osato Chemicals, and appears as the Japanese headquarters of Ernst Stavro Blofeld's organization, SPECTRE.
