[edit] Route description
Route 159 begins at its western terminus where Bloomfield Avenue intersects U.S. Route 46. It follows Bloomfield Avenue, a four-lane divided highway, for about half a mile, taking it into Fairfield before it reaches the western terminus of County Route 506. There, County Route 506 follows Bloomfield Avenue into Newark, New Jersey, while Route 159 veers to the east following Oak Road and Clinton Road back to U.S. Route 46.
[edit] History
Before the 1953 renumbering, Route 159 was Route 6M.
