[edit] Fees

The New English School tuition fees for the year 2006/2007 range from KWD 1800 to KWD 2600, from Grade 1 to Grade 11 and sixth form (lower sixth and upper sixth).

[edit] Criticisms

  • Many classrooms are either too cold or too hot. The equipment used in some of the older classrooms (e.g. blackboards, chairs, desks etc.) are often in an abysmal state.
  • While many of the books in the library are new, many are old and in a very bad state. No attempt has been made to repair these old books.
  • The canteen sells mostly junk-food at above average prices. Lines are more, often than not, very long, wasting much of the 20/15 minute break times.
  • Recently, there have been a number of racist remarks by certain teachers, and complaints have been made against them. However, the school management has done nothing what-so-ever to address this issue, and as a consequence, many students have decided to take matters into their own hands - answering teachers back and arguing for their rights.
  • Homeworks issued are usually extremely irritating and may lead to stress among other conditions, as reported by many students.[citation needed]
