The New Brunswick Broadcasting Company Ltd., also known as NBB, is a Canadian media holding company based in Saint John, New Brunswick.
Established in 1940 by industrialist K.C. Irving, NBB was the licensee for various radio stations in southern New Brunswick which were developed through the 1940s-1950s, as well as the CHSJ-TV television station.
In 1987, NBB established MITV (Maritimes Independent Television), a regional television station with broadcast studios in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and Saint John. This station was sold to Global Television on August 29, 1994.
NBB currently owns and operates various subsidiaries, including Acadia Broadcasting and Ocean Capital Investments. At one time, the Irving conglomerate used NBB as a holding company for disparate elements of its empire, including factories, cargo ships, and real estate.
A sister media company to NBB in the Irving conglomerate is Brunswick News, which owns numerous daily and community newspapers across New Brunswick.
