New Bright

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

New Bright is a manufacturer of radio controlled and remote controlled automobiles and trains. Their products are entry level, not hobby grade, and geared more toward a younger user.

New Bright Industrial Company, based in Hong Kong, was founded in 1955. They produce vehicles from 1:43 to 1:6 scale and have several licensed products from major auto manufacturers. Their products are widely distributed in several stores such as Toys R Us and Wal-Mart.

Their current line of radio control vehicles all use a proprietary design 9.6v battery pack. Most have the same electronics inside and the same basic design. The durability and quality of vehicles is very important to them according to their corporate statements, but they currently rate behind Nikko on these characteristics. The cars they produce are almost formulaic, and currently their most successful vehicles are based on a recent trend they have attempted to capitalize on, radio control "rock crawling" vehicles.

"We are one of the top two manufacturers with the largest market share within our specialized categories in the North American toy market." -From New Bright's Corporate Profile web page ([1]) as of 1-26-07.

This statement is in agreement with the fact that they are currently behind Nikko as the leading market share and manufacturer for the North American market. Comparisons between the companies' vehicles indicate that a possible reason for New Bright's second place standing is their lower quality and limited lineup compared to Nikko.
