User:UtherSRG's comment at Talk:Yeti that says "... Instead of trying to out do yourself by making more fake pictures of Yeti, etc. ..." seems to suggest that this image was drawn by a wikipedian, viz. User:Lizard King.
From the date it was uploaded it is likely that he intended this image to be taken as under GFDL since IMHO those days the policy only asked fair-use images to be marked as such. -- Paddu 21:24, 25 Mar 2005 (UTC)
