Neville William Cayley

Neville William Cayley (1886-1950) was an Australian author, artist and amateur ornithologist. His best-known book is What Bird is That?, the only fully illustrated field guide to Australian birds available from the 1930s (the first edition was issued in 1931) to the 1960s. A member of the Royal Australasian Ornithologists Union (RAOU), he was President of that body 1936-1937. For many years he contributed paintings of Australian birds to illustrate the RAOU journal, the Emu.
