State Route 596 is a 6.0 mile road that runs North and South.

SR-596 begins at Nevada 593/Tropicana Avenue and runs to Smoke Ranch Road. In 1996, this route was defined to extend from Nevada 593 (Tropicana Boulevard) north to Nevada 599 (Rancho Road). In 2002, Nevada 596 was decommissioned between Sahara Avenue and Charleston Boulevard. As of June 2002, Nevada 596 exists between Tropicana Avenue and Sahara Avenue, and again between Charleston Boulevard and Smoke Ranch. It is likely that the remainder of this route will be turned over to Clark County.
