The Nevada Cancer Institute, founded in 2002, has been designated by the state of Nevada as the official cancer institute for the state since 2003. This 142,000 square foot non profit institute is structured as a research facility providing treatment for Nevada residents.

Under its mandate, the institute offers a larger number of clinical trials that were not previously available without the support of a large research center. This includes the first Level I clinical trials conducted in Nevada.
