[edit] Hey!
um, I was in the middle of trying to fix up Lifeboat Ethics, and I know that it was pretty incoherent/random facts, but I wasn't done... Could yu put it back so I can finish it?
Thanks, CchristianTehWazzit
(nevermind, finally figured it out myself)

[edit] T:ITN
Please familiarize yourself with Wikipedia:In the news section on the Main Page#Notes for administrators, especially when working with images. Putting an unprotected image up, such as here, is an open invitation for goatse on the Main Page. - BanyanTree 19:56, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
- Additionally, ITN is not a breaking news ticker. Its purpose is to direct readers to articles that have been written or substantially updated to reflect a news story. At the time of the edit cited above, the Rumsfeld article contained one non-proofread sentence on the subject of his actual resignation: "On November 8th, 2006, Rumsfeld resigned from his postition [sic] as Defense Secretary." This conveyed absolutely no information not included in the ITN blurb itself. Please see Template talk:In the news#Rumsfeld update. —David Levy 15:34, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Deletion of Fur Affinity
Hi, I noticed you deleted the article Fur Affinity recently, which I started. I realise that there was not a good deal there at the time, but I fully intended to expand the article soon (I have a rather vested interest in not letting it get to orphaned status). As well, I know you must be busy, but I would appreciate a message when you delete something of mine. Thanks! [edit] Unspecified source for Image:French Formal Garden in Loire Valley.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:French Formal Garden in Loire Valley.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fritz Saalfeld (Talk) 12:02, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] National Mall map
Neutrality, I was scouting the National Mall article for an eventual map and I honestly thought that the photo-map there was quite good. I can work on something, as you suggested, similar to my map of Central Park -- drawn maps like that no doubt present a certain clarity not seen in photo-maps. But it would be hard to improve much upon what is there. Wouldn't one of your replacement maps be a better goal???
Let me know your thoughts, MapMaster 00:04, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Gene Robinson.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Gene Robinson.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Angr 16:19, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Philanthropist
I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Philanthropist, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:Philanthropist. You may remove the deletion notice, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. — Sebastian (talk) 03:40, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks for the copyedits

[edit] A request for assistance
Would you support the concept of moving the Earhart "myths" to a separate page or article? The reason for my suggesting this is that the main article should be an accurate and scholarly work while the speculation and conspiracy theories surrounding the disappearance of Amelia Earhart are interesting, they belong in a unique section. Most researchers, as you know, discount the many theories and speculation that has arisen in the years following her last flight. Go onto the Earhart discussion page and register your vote/comments...and a Happy New Year to you as well. Bzuk 03:02 3 January 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Please provide an edit summary
When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. Jonathunder 15:27, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

Baseball has been nominated for a featured article review. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. Please leave your comments and help us to return the article to featured quality. [edit] Unspecified source for Image:Rob_Andrews.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:Rob_Andrews.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. [edit] Image:Commonyellowthroat159.jpg
I noticed you uploaded the last version of this image. In case you noticed my unfortunate double-revert, and lest you think I was actually trying to modify it, I clicked on the "revert" link by mistake, so I then reverted it to your good version. I had intended to view the earlier revision, not revert to it, and I'm actually shocked that there was no warning or confirmation dialog to protect against unintentional clicks like mine... Is there any way to delete my "versions" of the file and clean up the edit history? --Fru1tbat 20:11, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] User:Essjay/Letter
I notice you just re-deleted User:Essjay/Letter. Per the concerns I've noted on User talk:Cbrown1023#Deletion of User:Essjay/Letter and WP:AN#User:Essjay/Letter, would you be opposed to the page being recreated with a (protected) notice explaining that it has been deleted per Essjay's request on his talk page? [edit] Help Resolving a conflict
I have read the pages about this on wikipedia and I have came to you because you seem to be a person who knows how wikipedia is supposed to work and are most likely 100% neutral on this matter. I am involved in a rather intense edit war with two other editors of the article Miriam Rivera. In the last days the user User:Jokestress has quite reasonably asked for the article to be backed up with more reliable sources. Well I found them and that seems to have placated her. She has acted in 100% reasonable way in all of this. The problem arises in that she has asked in the spirt of resolving the conflict we were having other people who are not 100% neutral it seems to comment on the matter. These being the user User:Longhair and the userUser:Alison in particular who have not bothered to justify anything that they have done. Longhiar being an admin seems to feel no need to discuss anything and I feel is abusing her powers. Is there anything you can do? --Hfarmer 04:12, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
