The Neue Staatsgalerie in Stuttgart, Germany was designed by the British architect James Stirling in the 1970s and opened to the public in 1984.

The gallery occupies a site next to the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart.

The warm tone of the stone used, contrasting to the green steel framing system and the bright pink and purple steel handrails, gives a pleasant journey through the history of paintings and sculptures to visitors.

It is believed by some that this building, being a much acclaimed example of British architecture, was one of the principal reasons Stirling received the Pritzker Prize in 1981.
