Definition An interruption in availability of the system due to the communication failure of the network.The Network Outages:
[1] Will cost money directly to the organisation for eg., and Banks, Airlines, Online Transaction companies,etc.,;
[2] Will Cost money indirectly to customers for eg., ISP, Telecommunication network outage, etc.,

Corporations might run out of business due to network outage or they might lose millions of dollars if an important application does not run for just an hour. It is the duty of the network designer to make sure that the 'network outage' does not happen.
