Netherlands Indian roepiah

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The roepiah was the currency issued by the Japanese occupiers in the Netherlands Indies between 1944 and 1945. It was subdivided into 100 sen and replaced the gulden at par.

Note: since "oe" in Dutch is pronouced as "u" in English, the currency's name should be pronounced as if it were written "rupiah".
