Net Transport

Net Transport is a closed source software download manager and stream ripper. It is also known as NetXfer. Lately, Xi, the company which Net Transport is associated to, started to include FTP Transport, which is similar to Net Transport, with Net Transport install file. So far, as in September 2006, there are two types of NetXfer: Unicode and ANSI. You can read more overview of NetXfer from the External Links below.

Net Transport is particularly valuable for downloading .RM files that are listed inside a .RAM description file. An example is the BBC Radio player 'Listen Again' feature. This program have also support for both SSL and SSH upload and download standarts.

- Does not seem to interface well with Firefox, catches only a few downloads. There is an extension to Firefox to improve Net Transport/Firefox relations at http://www.flashgot.net. The Opera plugin for Net Transport, is actually also designed for Firefox and improves matters further.
- Only for Windows.

- License: 90 Day Trial, fully functional afterwards with a nag screen at start up.
- Version 1.87 was released as freeware, and is still available on some freeware sites.
