[edit] Releases
There have been no official releases of NetSurf, although RISC OS test builds are available publicly to download every time a change is made to the source code in Subversion, and development is very active.
[edit] Version 1.0
This is the currently targeted release, and will promoted as a fully fledged browser for the RISC OS platform, however the Unix version will remain very basic, and mostly exists as a debugging aid.
[edit] Version 2.0
Once version 1.0 has been released, work will begin on version 2.0 which will be released as a fully fledged browser for both Unix and RISC OS, as well as other platforms with GTK+ support.
[edit] Brand
The name NetSurf was agreed upon because it reflects the function of the application. This is a reflection of many of the names of RISC OS applications such as Browse (web browser), Draw (vector drawing tool), and SciCalc (Calculator).
The original idea for the NetSurf icon was designed by Phil Mellor. This was then morphed into the current icon, and a logo with the text "NetSurf" along side was also created. The text in the logo uses a modified version of the font face "Radioactive Roman".
