[edit] Mission statement

On Sunday, 15 October 2006 at 1400 UTC, I decided to join Wikipedia and help in the creation of high-quality encyclopedic articles.

Although a fierce critic of Wikipedia in the past, I later converted to a strong supporter and contributor!

[edit] Wiki beliefs

As an Inclusionist, I have no problem with Wikipedia articles that one could not find in a traditional encyclopedia, but I think that specialised wikis should be used for articles that are not encyclopedic. I also think that we should keep problematic articles, focusing on fixing them rather than deleting them.

I do support anonymous editing in Wikipedia and I dislike cliques. Wikipedia and decision making should be as open as possible.

[edit] Wiki interests

Apart from fixing typos and wikifying new articles, I seek to improve our coverage on science and especially computer science. Furthermore, I care about the quality of our articles on mathematics, free/libre open-source software, and political geography.

I am also interested in enhancing and maintaining Wikipedia's policies and processes, as well as helping out newcomers.

[edit] Writing style and languages

I can contribute in English and Modern Greek. I also have a grasp of French and German, but not much.

My style: Mostly using British English, always using the Oxford comma, and enjoying singular they.

[edit] Technical skills

I can create SVG vector graphics by writing XML, and contribute raster graphics with GIMP. I can also help in designing and implementing MediaWiki, as I know good PHP. Finally, I can use XHTML and CSS.

[edit] How I edit Wikipedia

I mainly use Konqueror on the desktop, Mozilla Firefox or Seamonkey on a laptop, and a Qtek 9000 PDA with Opera for editing Wikipedia. I do use navigation popups.
