Nephilim (Wing Commander)

The Nephilim are a race of aliens in the Wing Commander universe.

The Nephilim are a race of insectoid aliens who invade the Wing Commander galaxy via an artificial wormhole that opened after the Terran-Kilrathi War. The wormhole itself was opened in the Kilrah system, after the Kilrathi planet had been annihilated. Their coming was long foretold by Kilrathi prophets, as recounted in the game Wing Commander: Prophecy.

"There shall come a time when one who has the heart of a Kilrathi, but is not Kilrathi born, shall bring cleansing fire down upon us...and K'n'thrak* , a time of great darkness, will embrace us."

For the Kilrathi, the coming of the Nephilim was the coming of Nathrak, the end of all things. The presence of the humans, however, apparently upset the prophecy, as the Nephilim were driven back through the wormhole from which they came.
