Nepenthes jamban C.C.Lee (2006) |
Nepenthes jamban (Indonesian: jamban = toilet) is a highland species of tropical pitcher plant. It was discovered by Ch'ien Lee in the mountains of North Sumatra. Upper pitchers are very infundibulate (funnel-shaped) and contain a thick, mucilaginous liquid similar to that found in N. inermis.
N. jamban is thought to be most closely related to N. jacquelineae. Both taxa have a narrow lid and massive nectar glands, a trait unique to these two species. They can be distinguished on the basis of peristome morphology and floral characteristics.
