Nepenthes globosa Sh.Kurata in sched. |
Nepenthes globosa (Latin: globosus = globular, spherical) is a species of pitcher plant endemic to several Andaman Sea islands of Phang Nga Province, Thailand. It is similar in some respects to N. rafflesiana and also resembles N. rowanae from Cape York, Australia.
Prior to being described, the species was popularly known as "Nepenthes viking" after the resemblance the pitchers bear to the prow of a Viking ship.
