Nepalese Army Air Service

There is no Air Force in Nepal. However, Nepalese Army has Army Aviation Unit to provide the army air service. The Nepalese Army Air Unit has in its service the following helicopter.
- 3 Mi-17,
- 5 Alouettee,
- 2 Cheetahs,
- 2 Lancers,
- 2 HAL Dhruv,
- 2 Bell,
- 2 Ecureuil,
Also, there is some fixed wing aircraft.
- 2 Sky Trucks,
- 2 Islanders,
- 1 Avro.
One of the Army Air Unit's MI-17 helicopter crashed during the skirmish between security force and the People's Liberation Army (Maoist) at Sarlahi district, which is situated at the border between Nepal and India in April 2006.[citation needed]
