Neorant (ネオラント Neoranto?, Neorant in original Japanese language versions) are one of the fictional species of Pokémon creatures from the multi-billion-dollar[1] Pokémon media franchise – a collection of video games, anime, manga, books, trading cards and other media, created by Satoshi Tajiri. The purpose of Neorant in the games, anime and manga, as with all other Pokémon, is to battle both wild Pokémon, untamed creatures encountered while the player passes through various environments, and tamed Pokémon owned by Pokémon trainers.[2]
Its Japanese name, Neorant, comes from the word neon tetra, a species of fish. The name Neorant refers to the species as a whole, as well as individual specimens in the games, anime and manga.

Biological characteristics
Neorant's design and biology are loosely based off of butterflies and the neon tetra species of fish, as well as being the visual representation of butterflyfish or betta fish. They have four unique pectoral fins, two small ventral fins, and a tail that is very similar to that of Wynaut, although in place of an eye, they bear a red marking in the same place. On females the rear pectoral fins are longer. Their body's main color is dark blue. The rear half of their bodies are entirely dark blue, while the front half is a lighter, accented blue. Two dark blue rings circle their heads and a single light blue is between them. Their facial expression is slightly sinister due to their suspicious smile and dusky pink leering eyes. Their pectoral fins are dark blue with lighter accented colorings on the edges of the fins and around their heads. Neorant reside deep in the oceans and capture prey by luring them with the glowing markings on their four fins.[3]
In the video games
Neorant are the Stage-1 evolution of Keikouo. Evolution is a metamorphic change within a Pokémon caused by gaining experience in battle.[4] Keikouo evolves into Neorant at Level 31.[5] Neorant can be found on every route where Keikouo are found by fishing with the Super Rod.
Neorant has a decent stats, in which it has a decent Special Defense, and a high Speed. It is also one of the few or the only non-Bug-type Pokémon that learns Silver Wind, an Bug-typed move that has a chance to raise all stats.
