Talk:Nelson A. Miles
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I question the assertion: "Miles was the only man to have served as a commander in the Civil War, the Indian Wars, and the Spanish-American War." Commander of what? I can think off the top of my head of several generals who served in all three wars, most notably Wesley Merritt, who was a corps commander in the ACW, colonel of a cavalry regiment during the Indian Wars, and was initially the ground commander for the invasion of the Philippines during the Spanish-American War.
