|}Nelson High School of Burlington, Ontario, Canada is located in Burlington's Longmoor area and serves approximately 1200 students between grades 9 and 12 in the Halton District School Board. It was established in 1957 at the intersection of New Street and Belvenia Avenue. It was named after Horatio Nelson, 1st Viscount Nelson, a British admiral who defeated Napoleon's navy at the Battle of Trafalgar on October 21, 1805. The school celebrated the 200th year since Nelson's victory in 2005 with colourful events and staff dressed as characters from the day. A cubist mural of Nelson's ship, the HMS Victory, painted by local artist Robert Bateman, hangs above a staircase in the school's Canada Foyer. Although the school had been the last non-semestered school in the Halton region, Nelson has changed to the semestered system as of September 2006. This is in part to prevent students from leaving Nelson to attend a semestered high school. Nelson is planning a weekend to celebrate it's 50th anniversary in September, 2007.
