The Nelson Giants are a basketball team that play in the National Basketball League in New Zealand . They play their home games at the Trafalgar Centre in Nelson

JD Huleen, a 6'8" forward from Seattle Washington, was selcted twice as the Peoples Choice Award winner. JD Averaged 22 pts per game and 11 Rebounds during their championship season of 1999. Joe Wyatt, a 6'2" PG from Los Angeles, CA was a fan favorite as well. Joe was selected to the NZBL All Star Team 2 years in a row. Joe had the ability to make his teammates better by his court vision and uncanny ability deliver the "perfect pass." Joe's defenders were always at his mercy, due to his quickness and strength.
