Neil Macdonald

Neil Macdonald (born 1957) is an award winning Canadian journalist who currently works for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.

Macdonald worked as a print journalist for many years. He joined the CBC in 1988 and covered Parliament for approximately a decade. He then served for five years as the network's chief Middle East correspondent. He is currently The National's Washington correspondent.

Macdonald is a graduate of the Journalism program at Ottawa's Algonquin College, and is fluent in English and French, and can speak some Arabic.

In 2004, Macdonald received a Gemini Award for his reportage on Haiti.

He is the brother of comedian Norm Macdonald.
