Neil Crompton

Neil Crompton born July 30th 1960, is a V8 Supercars commentator for Channel Seven and previously held the same role at Network Ten.
Prior to commentating on V8's, Crompton competed in the series himself, racing with Holden in his early days and for the bulk of his career with Ford, yielding some success along the way. Some of Crompton's achievements from his racing career include coming 3rd in the 1995 Bathurst 1000, 4th in the 1996 Bathurst 1000 and 1st in the 1994 Bathurst 12 hours event. Crompton competed in the Bathurst 100 ten times for a career total of 230 V8 Supercar starts.
Crompton hung up his racing boots in 2003 to concentrate on commentating, and also specialises in Formula One expert commentary, something that he will not get to do for the meantime as Channel Seven do not hold the broadcasting rights to the F1.
Neil commentated for Channel Ten in the V8's and F1 until the conclusion of 2006, and is seen as an extremely valuable addition to Channel Seven's V8 coverage, which will broadcast the series from the 2007 season onwards.
