University Fathers

The university was fathered and led by several intellectual and prominent persons from the province. A lot of the developments that the university enjoy now can be attributed however to its present University President, Hon. Henry A. Sojor, Ph.D.

Sojor hailed from Dauin, Negros Oriental. A small municipality with nothing so much to brag but its underwater spectacles owing a lot of it from Apo Island, that is generating prominence from and among sea divers.

Sojor as a child was an underprivileged born to a poor mother. Sojor works his way to college and gain entrance to the infamous Silliman University finishing his doctorate degree from the same university in the late 80's.

When Sojor was appointed as president then of CVPC, the university was then tagged as "bahong taya" (baho meaning smell, and taya which means rust) because of its old equipment, dilapidated building and rickety classrooms.

From his time on, the university has gained international recognition and has linked with various advanced universities in Asia, Australia and the US. The most recent link it made was with Kyung Hee University of Korea.
