Negative pH

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This article is about the chemistry property. For the drum and bass group, see negative pH (drum and bass group).

There are negative pH values for acids. Some commercially available HCl solutions (37% by weight) have a pH of about -1.1, and saturated NaOH solution has a pH of about 15 (>14). Also many superacids have a negative pH. Negative pH means that the concentration of H+ or H3O+ ions is greater than one mole per litre.
