NEFOS

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In 1955 the Bandung Conference hosted by Achmed Sukarno [the first president of the Republic of Indonesia] consisted of twenty-nine nations, all of whom claimed 'Third World' status as beholden to neither the United States nor the USSR. Achmed Sukarno portrayed himself as the leader of this 'Third World' group, naming it NEFOS (Newly Emerging Forces).
