Nederland 3 (English: Netherlands 3) is the third and youngest Dutch public net used by member-based non-profit broadcasting organizations (Publieke Omroep). It was established on April 4, 1988. Nederland 3 used to be the home channel of the VPRO, the VARA, the RVU and the NPS. The channel focuses were on news, debate and culture. Before the evening, however, its programs were aimed at children. In September 2006, the three channels of the Publieke Omroep changed, with Nederland 3 still focussing on children before the evening, but in the evening also focussing on a younger audience, broadcasting programs such as Top of the Pops, a soap, films, comedy series and new kinds of programs.
