Necati Ateş (pronounced "Ne-jah-ti A-tesh"), (born on January 3, 1980 in İzmir, Turkey) is a Turkish football player as striker and he plays for the Turkey national football team. He currently plays for Galatasaray, wearing the prolific #10 jersey. He is known for his long hair and aggressive, fast plays with great vision and precise passing. He played fantastic alongside Frenchman Franck Ribery in Galatasaray's 5-1 trashing in the 2004/05 Turkish Cup Final against historic rivals Fenerbahçe.He was an integral part of Galatasaray's 2005-2006 16th league championship. He has recently scored many goals in Turkey's 2008 European Championship preparatory exhibition games.
He formerly played for Altay and Adanaspor.
