He is renowned for his wide and colorful scream and for his high energy stage performances, in which he usually dresses in bright colors and crazy outfits. In the band's early days, he was also known for having a glass of Vodka-Rum and Coke on stage with him, but he has since discontinued.
[edit] Early Life And Formation Of Work
Neal Century was born Maurice Yandiorio on the 10th October 1982 in Milan, Italy. He was a happy baby with a big smile but as a child Maurice was a small and frail boy spending much of his time at home.
He developed a love for singing and music very early on. His family sometimes used to joke with the neighbours? Sure he could sing before he could talk properly. One of his sisters soon caught on to his love of singing and his singing ability.
He was always listening to tapes form about the age of five and maybe even before. Elvis was his earliest influences and the “Love Me Tender” was his first song.
Leaving school in the 2000, Neal was invited by friends to join their musical projects.
Maurice’s life then moved towards music as a career, meeting up with Dan, a young guitar player, with whom he started making music. In trips between London and Milan, he formed his first band, “Stop & Go” with Dan himself and others. In 2002 Neal got a high spot at the
Sopot International Song Festival in Sopot ( Poland ), playing Queen’s songs, Blues and Old Rock with his brand new "Stop'n'Go Band", a three-piece: Neal Century piano, guitar and vocal, Brodie Scalon bass guitar and Voodoo Phil on the drums. A fourth member joined the band but only during that gig. Around 2002, Dan and Neal began writing songs together exclusively. The “Stop & Go” played very few concerts in 2002-2003, and released no music at all. Neal was instead writing songs and altering the musical style of a brand-new band Work, along with his own image.
