NCAA Wrestling Team Championship

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The NCAA Wrestling Team Championship was first officially awarded in 1929 and began to be continuously awarded on an annual basis in 1934 except during World War II 1943-1945. In 1928 and from 1931 to 1933, there was only an unofficial title. Oklahoma State won the 1928, 1931 unofficial titles. Indiana University won the 1932 unofficial title. In 1933, Iowa State and Oklahoma State were unofficial co-champions.

At the NCAA Wrestling Championships, which also crown individual champions, a points system is used to determine the team champion. Oklahoma State University has won more NCAA team championships than any other school, having won the title 34 times (includes 3 unofficial titles), most recently in 2006.
