[edit] Activities
[edit] Unarmed IDR
The NC-939th has an unarmed Inspected Drill Routine (IDR) team that competes in local drill competitions throughout the academic year. The team is usually rather large and so cadets must compete to earn a slot in the team. They also compete at a regional drill competition at North Carolina State University every year.
[edit] Color Guard
The Color Guard of the unit also competes in drill competitions. In addition, they fly the colors at school sporting events such as Football and Basketball games, as well as the occasional parade.
[edit] Cherry Point Leadership School
The North Carolina 939th also partakes in a summer leadership school program. The program, normally taking place in the summer, is an intensive program hosted by other AFJROTC units and meant to further establish the core values of JROTC. In addition, a separate "Officer Leadership School" is offered for cadets interested in becoming Officers of the unit.
