NBQX

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

NBQX (2,3-dihydroxy-6-nitro-7-sulfamoyl-benzo[f]quinoxaline-2,3-dione) is an AMPA receptor antagonist. Brown/Red powder.

Disodium salt version can be dissolved in water at higher concentrations (<30 mM).

Blocks AMPA receptors in micromolar concentrations (~10–20 μM) and also kainate receptors. In experiments it is used to counter glutamate excitotoxicity.[1]
