Nazário is a small town and municipality in eastern Goiás state, Brazil.

- Nazário is located 74 km. west of the state capital, Goiânia a few kilometers west of the Rio dos Bois, a major tributary of the Paranaíba River. The regional center, Anicuns, is 21 km to the northwest.
- Highway connections: state highway BR-069 west from Goiânia, through Trindade, Santa Bárbara de Goiás, and then 12 kilometers west to Nazário.

In January 2005 the Mayor was João Augusto Machado. There were 9 members on the city council and the number of eligible voters was 5,981 in 2004.

In 2003 the population density was 22.49 hab/km². In 2003 there were 6,367 people living in the urban area and 383 living in the rural area. The population has increased by about 1,000 people since 1980. Between 1991 and 2000 the geometric population growth rate was 0.67.%.

The economy was based on agriculture, cattle raising, services, and a small number of modest transformation industries. In 2005 there were 22 industrial units and 52 retail units. There was 1 meat-packing plant--Gelnex Indústria e Comércio Ltda--and 1 banking institution--Banco Itaú S.A. IN 2003 the transformation industries employed 562 workers, commerce employed 156, and public administration employed 150. In 2004 there were 507 automobiles, 71 trucks, 19 pickup trucks, and 231 motorcycles.
In 2004 there were 35,941 head of cattle, 19,150 head of poultry, and 4,660 head of swine. The main agricultural products were rice, bananas, coffee, sugarcane, beans, oranges, manioc, and corn. Only corn had 1,000 planted hectares.

In 2003 there was 1 hospital with 50 beds and 4 walk-in health clinics. There were 4 doctors, 3 nurses, and 1 dentist. The infant mortality rate was 16.30, well below the national rate of 35.0 in 2000.
In 2005 the school system had 6 schools, 38 classrooms, 81 teachers, and 2,305 students. There were 2 public middle schools. There were no institutions of higher learning. The adult literacy rate was 87.0%, higher than the national average of 86.4% in 2000.

In 2000 there were 2,000 households. Of these, 145 had no income, 680 earned less than 1 minimum salary, 540 earned between 1 and 2 minimum salaries, 238 earned between 2 and 3 minimum salaries, 190 between 3 and 5, 147 between 5 and 10, 29 between 10 and 15, 11 between 15 and 20, 6 between 20 and 30, and 14 earned more than 20 minimum salaries.
