Navea Training Center
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A training camp set up by the U.S. Army to train the Iraqi Civil Defense Corps (later the Iraqi National Guard and then the New Iraqi Army) during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Many U.S. soldiers lived on the base, but the camp was largely a satellite base to the nearby large Al Asad airbase. The nearest Iraqi town is the mostly Sunni and largely hostile town of Hīt, Iraq.
