020815-N-0872M-541 Norfolk, Virginia (15 August 2002) -- USS John F. Kennedy (CV-67) approaches the pier at Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia, as the ship prepares to disembark part of her air wing personnel before continuing her journey to Mayport, Florida, where she is homeported. Kennedy just completed a six-month deployment to the Mediterranean Sea and Persian Gulf in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. U.S. Navy photo by Photographer’s Mate 1st Class Martin Maddock. (RELEASED). A portion of Naval Station Norfolk can be seen in the background including parts of the naval air station.
Part of the crew can be seen lining the forward and starboard sides of the flight deck. USS Harry S. Truman (CVN-75) can be seen on the opposite side of the pier.
