Nautical Almanac (band)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nautical Almanac are a noise music group with a rotating membership based around Carly Ptak and Twig Harper, originating from the Michigan scene which produced Wolf Eyes, Beast People, Andrew W.K. and his alter ego Steev Mike. Influenced by Harry Pussy and Caroliner, among others, Nautical Almanac began as a costumed noise duo in Chicago before relocating to Baltimore, Maryland in 2001, where they founded the HereSee record label and now defunct Tarantula Hill performance venue.

In March of 2006, shortly before Harper's performance at New York's No Fun Fest, the first floor of their building and much their equipment and archives were lost in a fire. [1]
