[edit] Proposed speedy delete

I have removed the proposed deletion because it cited copyright violation (G12, at Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion). Speedy deletion is NOT appropriate unless FOUR conditions are met; condition #2, There is no non-infringing content in the page history worth saving, is not true. For example, there are five footnotes that do not come from the NRF website. John Broughton | Talk 22:00, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Copyright infringement

In accordance with the template posted on the article, I have created a temporary copy at Talk:National Retail Federation/Temp. In that copy, I modified what is the offending text cited in the listing of this article - the first paragraph. I have modified that paragraph in a way that I believe removes copyright infringements and complies with Wikipedia:Fair use criteria.

I also note that unlike an academic publisher or other information providers who have a commercial interest in protecting published works, NRF is a trade association and the copyright infringement involved its mission statement, something it most likely would be happy to see distributed widely.
