I wasn't alive for it, so I don't know how to describe it. But, this description of CBS's animation is a little confusing to me (i.e., the rolling of the teams part).

"CBS used rotoscoped animation in silouette of one player shooting a jumpshot and the ball in mid air rolling all the NBA teams as it spun in the air, with disco-pop-moog music behind it."
