[edit] Notability

I think based on the number of books he's N.DGG 06:29, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

From the list here, he had five sermons individually published. That's not exactly prolific. Is the list incomplete? In any case, he doesn't appear in the 1911 Britannica [1] or Schaff-Herzog [2]. Has he become notable since their publication? This page does not assert his notability (being the relative of someone who is notable is not enough), and indeed it seems like little more than a genealogical entry. I'm re-adding the prod until the article is improved. --Flex (talk|contribs) 13:39, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
His importance is likely to be historical rather than theological, and EB is not good for American Clergymen. Actually, it is unclear whether the large number of American 18th century figures entered in WP are N, and what criteria should be used. DGG 01:44, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
Ok, but his historical importance is not noted in the article so far as I can detect. What exactly is his claim-to-fame, as it were, other than being a relatively distant off-spring of some notable and being the father of several putatively non-notables (which is all the article discusses)? (BTW, S-H was edited for an American audience, so I would expect it to take note of him, though of course people can be overlooked or not fully appreciated until later.) --Flex (talk|contribs) 03:10, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
