I believe she is from South African, in one show she did mention that she was from that country, but I'm not absolutely sure. Also she has only appeared in the Daily Planet version of the show, not the show's predecessors.

 im glad she is gone i never watched discovery when she was there.i couldnt understand her. now i can watch again. dave from windsor
