Natural Selection is Fuel's third full-length album, released in 2003.
The song "Falls on Me" was a popular first single and received much airplay on MTV. "Won't Back Down" provided the introductory track for Daredevil: The Album, and its music video borrows themes from the film such as Daredevil's signature flaming initials. "Quarter" featured in two Electronic Arts video games - Need for Speed: Underground and NFL Street.
Fuel was forced to call off tour dates after an on-stage accident led to lead singer Brett Scallions' nose being broken. Forced to have surgery, he had to re-learn how to sing for the recording of Natural Selection. This would be his last recording with the band before leaving the group in 2006.
